The State With the Highest Cigarette Smokers in Nigeria
Only one out of every 100 men smoke a cigarette in Nigeria, while the number for the female smokers is so insignificant according to the Nigeria 2017 Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey. Nevertheless, Delta state is where you are likely to find most male smokers. As they say “Warri no dey carry last! Sokoto, Edo, Oyo and Imo state trail Delta state in that order.
In Cross River state, you are likely to see more teen smokers than any state in Nigeria. So, if you are planning to work on Tobacco use and abuse, Cross River and Delta State might be a good state to start your campaign.

Have you worked in Katsina State? I think you should do some checks there. Katsina state is one of the few states where the money for cigarettes is added to the groceries money for daily cooking and needs. It is not uncommon to find everyone in a home smoking..from parents sons and daughters. To stop the kids from pinching their cigarettes, parents have been known to add some extra for cigarettes…
Do you think people never changed? You are just been carried away by side talks from people without justification. Have you ever been to Katsina state yourself? Seeing is believing. You can conduct your own research. But, I will confirm this to you that it is the old Katsina of 30 years back you are referring to.
